Panic Attack?

panic attack
Jessie asked:

I have panic attacks very often. I have found that snapping a rubber band around my wrist helps ease them. I was wondering if anyone else had remedies of how they stop a panic attack from happening.

when was younger i used to get them alot, and all i did was lay down and drink a glass of milk,im not sure if it makes the panic atack dissapear but it is really soothing.

I know that this may sound corny but i have found that walking and thinking about something that you are looking foward to helps alot as well

when i got them….i got them BAD out of NOWHERE!! i found if someone just talked to me about calming things…nothing like oh yeah yesterday i seen a dog get run over by a car!!! friends would talk to me me like: “you know one day when i was walking along the beach, i looked down in the sand and found a really pretty purple star fish…. i guess it just kept my mind on something else….i tried meds givin by the dr. but didnt want it to be a habit…i learned to relaxe myself and eventually they went away. stay away from caffine and things that can make you excited. also try meditation…sit in a warm tub with candles and soft music….i think hurting your self is not a good thing.

Try to find something interesting to occupy your mind. That is, call a friend, talk to the person who might be with you, carry on a one-sided conversation with the dog if necessary. I used to get panic attacks too. I slowly got over them by calling my friends when I felt them coming on. Usually, there was always something interesting to talk about and it kept my mind busy. Hope this helps! Panic attacks can be very hard to deal with, good luck!

Hypnosis frequently cures it altogether. Rubber bands might be good too, like a mild acupuncture. Distracting but not as painful. lol

causing yourself pain will only escalate over time.

lets look at and address the causes and conditions of your anxiety… and then learn to manage and lower your stress…

    how to do that?

learn to first close your eyes and take 3 deep slow breaths. start emptying your mind.

do this for 5 minutes to start. work up to 2 times a day 20 minutes each time. for more info see below (website)

i know this is gonna sound funny but self soothing. if your at home lay down and barely rub your fingers across your arms or legs. and this sounds really bad but pleasure yourself. ive read so many things about that it kinda made me wanna laugh. so now ive been through 400 can of vasoline (joking).
i use to do stretches also. for some reason they would calm them down. go to your local health store and pick up a bottle of gaba. that will settle anxiety down with no side effects and its good for you..read up on it. good luck and remember anxiety is in your head. it wasnt there before until you put it there..and read up on anxiety. once you hear why you get it , it makes it alot better to cope with
